Nothing's Changed

So after nearly 2 months on a journey to lose weight and lead a healthier life, my weight has remained at 185. I guess it's a good thing because it means I haven't gained any weight.

I don't think I've lost any weight because in all honesty I haven't really tried. I took a job that I have a love/hate affair with on a weekly basis that doesn't pay what I used to be making. I love my job, but I hate the way things are going on our new floor. It's a pretty big floor with about 10 fewer beds than the previous floor we were on, but the new rooms are all private and quite large. The rooms are great for our patients because if I were dying from some form of cancer or had some gynecological issue going on, I'd want to be in a room by myself. The thing that I hate about my job is that most nights I am the only tech on the floor which means my patients are spread out over the entire floor. What does that mean? A ton of walking. Who knows how many steps I take a night on this new floor, but it seems to help me not pack on more pounds.

I had a point somewhere...Oh, it was this: I took a cut in pay to take this job. I can't afford to just throw out the food that's bad for me and I can't necessarily afford to buy all healthy food. Slowly but surely I've been eating the "bad" stuff to make way for the good stuff and I'm nearly free of the junk.

Maybe if I give up eating pizza and drinking soda and sweet tea I'll finally lose some weight. Only time will tell...
